Help Center

How can we help?

Find practical answers about your CollegeBuddy account, interviews, Results, AdvisorAI, Reflection Journal, and subscription.

Getting Started

Setting up your profile and college workspaces.

How do I get started with CollegeBuddy?

Create an account, complete your student profile, and add at least one college with an intended major. CollegeBuddy then creates a college-specific workspace where you can open AdvisorAI, practice interviews, and review Results.

Can I update my profile or college list later?

Yes. Use Edit Profile to update your information, and manage your college workspaces from the Applications area. Keeping your information current helps CollegeBuddy use the right context in personalized features.

AdvisorAI

Using personalized admissions guidance responsibly.

What can I ask AdvisorAI?

AdvisorAI can help you think through interview preparation, college-specific questions, application themes, and ways to communicate your real experiences clearly. Its answers are guidance, not admissions guarantees.

Why does AdvisorAI use my profile and selected college?

That context lets it provide guidance relevant to your background, intended major, and current college workspace. You should still verify important deadlines, requirements, and policies on the university’s official website.

Mock Interviews

Realistic interview practice without live coaching.

How is a Mock Interview different from Guided Interview?

Mock simulates a continuous admissions conversation and saves coaching for Results. Guided provides support during practice so you can revise and strengthen answers as you go.

Can Mock Interview use information from my profile?

Yes, when appropriate for the simulated interview. Some scenarios may directly explore application information, while application-blind scenarios use profile context only to steer questions naturally without claiming the interviewer saw your application.

Can I type answers instead of speaking?

Yes. A Mock Interview can contain spoken answers, typed answers, or both. Spoken delivery can only be evaluated where usable audio exists; typed portions are evaluated from their transcript content.

Guided Interviews

Practice with immediate coaching and next steps.

What happens during a Guided Interview?

The interviewer asks admissions-style questions while the coach helps you recognize what a question is assessing and improve incomplete answers. Topics rotate naturally, and you can also steer to a topic when that control is available.

What does Guided Results include?

Guided Results focuses on qualitative analysis and practical steps forward. It does not present Mock-style delivery scores, timestamps, or audio statistics.

Results

Understanding evaluation modes and processing.

How long does it take to prepare Results?

Results preparation can take approximately two to three minutes after an eligible interview finishes, especially when audio must be processed. Keep the completion page open while preparation is underway.

Why are Fluency or Delivery not evaluated?

Those measures require usable spoken-answer audio. If an interview has no recording or the recording cannot reliably support delivery analysis, CollegeBuddy preserves transcript evaluation without inventing audio evidence.

Why was my interview not evaluated?

An interview needs a usable transcript with student answers and must meet the minimum session length shown by CollegeBuddy. Very short or empty sessions do not provide enough evidence for responsible evaluation.

Reflection Journal

Private, non-AI daily reflection.

Is Reflection Journal an AI counselor or mental-health assessment?

No. It is a private journaling tool with fixed reflection prompts and a simple self-selected mood. It does not diagnose, counsel, score mental health, interpret your writing, or generate AI feedback.

Can I change an older reflection?

You can view and edit an entry you previously saved. New entries can only be created for today, and each calendar date can contain at most one entry.

Plans & Billing

Trials, Pro allowances, and subscription management.

What interview access is included with CollegeBuddy Pro?

Pro includes 350 Mock Interview minutes across up to 10 Mock sessions per month, with a 40-minute maximum for each Mock session. It also includes 300 Guided Interview minutes per month.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Open Upgrade to Pro from the dashboard and use the available subscription-management option. A scheduled cancellation keeps access active until the end of the current paid period.

Privacy & Account

Ownership, privacy, and account access.

Can another student see my profile, Results, or journal entries?

No. CollegeBuddy’s authenticated data access is designed around user ownership. Your private records should only be available to your signed-in account.

What should I do if I cannot sign in or something looks wrong?

Try signing out and back in, then include the page you were using and a short description when emailing collegebuddy.support@gmail.com. Do not send your password, access token, API keys, or other secrets.
